Ireland Engineering Stainless Steel Shorty Header
Product Description
TC Motorsports uses these headers on its race-winning BMW PRO3 race cars.
These headers are for the M20 6 cylinder engine. They are a 3 into 1 type with a set for the front 3 cylinders and a set for the rear 3 cylinders with 1.5 inch primary tubes. The primary tubes are short (about 16 inches), which makes installation easier. They come with 2 inch dameter down pipes to connect to the stock exhaust system. Some simple fabrication is required to make the connection. You must cut the stock down tubes in front of the cat and the new down tubes slip over (not inside like other systems) the stock tubes in front of the cat. These are a well-made, but inexpensive alternative to other expensive systems.
These Headers will also fit the 325e exhaust, which merges into one pipe in front of the cat. You will need to install a "Y" in front of the cat to adapt the two down pipes to the cat.
These Headers will not fit right-hand drive chassis.
Specify uncoated or ceramic coated (allow 2-3 weeks additional for delivery of the ceramic coated Headers). Picture shows the headers with the ceramic coating.
